Mission:Clean Stream/GM Earth Day-April 7 2018

Four Great Events. One Amazing Weekend

We are closely monitoring the weather and conditions at all of the sites for Saturday. It is important to note that conditions that adversely affect one site may not affect the rest. Be sure to check with rain out line or volunteer coordinator for the municipality in which you have registered for the most accurate and up-to-date information. We will continue to post the latest information here.

Portage des Souix clean up will take place rain, snow or shine. You may still register on-line at Greenwaynetwork.org.

Riverlands will take place. Again, register at greenwaynetwork.org.

Lake St Louis is proceeding as scheduled.

Dardenne Prairie is proceeding as scheduled.

St Charles is still scheduled but check back here or with them directly after noon on Friday.

Unfortunately, the Run for the Rivers and GM Earth Day have been cancelled. Please plan on joining us at @Racefortherivers in August to catch up with our artists and environmental educators as well as the food, beer, kayak races, Bass Pro Outdoor days and fun.

Wentzville has cancelled their event but they invite all participants to make arrangements to clean their sites at their convenience. Please contact the city directly to coordinate supplies and trash pick up.

Cottleville is cancelled with participants invited to contact the city to make arrangements to clean up on their own.

The clean up at Cora Island has been postponed. The rain date is TBD.

GM Earth Day: Come early to the festival at Rotary Park2577 West Meyer Road, Foristell, MO 63348, if you want to see the Mission:Clean Stream workers off. Explore work by local artisans. Learn how to get connected to, and preserve nature with activities like making upcycled crafts, exploring a model stream and seeing how pollution moves into our rivers and streams.

Also on hand will be vendors, and organizations that can help you or your family make a real difference in the world. There will be plenty of hands-on activities with a particular emphasis on keeping very young children occupied while their older siblings are out on the creek.

Green Heroes Program: Kids can earn a very special award by learning about the environment at the festival.

Spend your money at our unique group of vendors selling soy candles, natural teas, green cleaning products, jewelry, essential oils and more.

For vendor information contact greenwaynetwork@gmail.com or fill out an application.

Mission: Clean Stream: Volunteers from St. Charles County and the communities of Cottleville, Dardenne Prairie, Lake St. Louis, O’Fallon, St. Charles and Wentzville join with Greenway Network to remove trash from local streams and lakes.

Mission: Clean Stream started as a joint effort to pick up litter from publicly accessible creek areas. Today, Mission: Clean Stream has evolved into a challenge, or charge, for thousands to do some serious damage to the amount of trash in water ways across the county in just two hours.
