Description: Join us for a presentation about paddling on the Missouri River. Topics covered include river safety, reading buoys and shore markers, different boats and gear, details on different sections of the Missouri, and information on the Race for the Rivers event in August. Presenter: Joseph Ringling, a Race for the Rivers volunteer and seasoned expedition kayaker from the St. Louis area. Joseph has paddled many of Missouri's large and small rivers and will emphasize how to enjoy our waterways by incorporating proper planning, gear selection and good common sense. Race for the Rivers is a 2-day event on the Missouri River that includes a race for seasoned pros, a race for amateurs and beginners, and a festival with music and food.
